Horst Pohlmann

Horst PohlmannHorst Pohlmann, born 1958, studied IT at the University of Paderborn and worked initially as a system developer in a branch of a software house belonging to the Rheinmetall Group, where he established from new the subject of software quality assurance. Following this he has been engaged in the areas of management and quality for various software houses. He has gained experience in various roles as employee, senior management and company director in the subjects of software quality assurance, quality and project management and business process reengineering. Horst Pohlmann has been a member of the Gesellschaft für Informatik since1984 and has been active in the GI-working party "Test, Analysis and Verification of Software" (TAV) since 1992. In 1996 the TAV Glossary of testing terms were created in cooperation with Eike Hagen Riedemann and others and released.

From 2000 to 2005 he has been employed in the telecommunications branch as IT Quality Manager/Leader of Quality Management. Since November 2005 Horst Pohlmann has continued with these subjects at a well known company in the automotive branch. Horst Pohlmann is a founding member and vice chairman of the German Testing Board (GTB e.V.). As part of his voluntary work there he has been involved in work on the ISTQB Glossary and the new Certified Tester Foundation Level Syllabus 2005 in both national and international issues.
