For the 10th anniversary of the Certified Tester training of the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB®) the German Testing Board e.V. (GTB) will hold its first GTB Forum. The event will take place on 24th September 2008 at the Potsdam Chamber of Industry and Commerce under the motto „Let’s talk together“ and is all about the 10-year jubilee, the exchange of information and experiences as well as the networking within the Certified-Tester community.

On the day before the CONQUEST 2008 conference, the GTB Forum will inform about current developments in connection with the Certified Tester training programme. Representatives in charge of training courses at the training providers, representatives of universities and certified testers will have a platform for the exchange of experiences at 3 different workshops, and also the opportunity to address desires, ideas and criticism. The necessary relaxation will be ensured by the subsequent anniversary celebration in the evening.

The workshop for enterprises discusses, amongst other issues, the question of how far the Certified-Tester training fulfills the requirements of the industry and where further improvements are possible or required. The working party for training providers focuses on day-to-day training issues and course preparation. The participants discuss, for instance, how the candidates can be optimally prepared for the exams, and how the required learning objectives can best be implemented in the seminars. The third workshop is aimed at researchers and lecturers from universities who have recently started to support the GTB in providing Certified-Tester seminars.

„In the wake of the Certified-Tester training of the ISTQB, an active and multifaceted community has formed in the course of the last years,” says GTB Chairman Tilo Linz with pleasure. “With our first GTB Forum, we want to bring the different members of this community together. This is bound to give new and interesting impulses to the work and commitment of all stakeholders.“
